It’s no secret to anyone creating original content and placing it on their website that plagiarism is alive and well today.
Plagiarism has become an online epidemic…sometimes because of ignorance and sometime not. Either way it is out and out theft.
An associate of ours contacted us to inform us that he found a full 80% of his stolen content to be posted on docstoc.com. He sends docstoc.com a DMCA take down notice when this occurs and docstoc.com does comply and remove the content.
The problem he is having is that he has no interest in the sending of DMCA take down notices to docstoc.com to become a full time job. After becoming fed up with the frequency of contacting docstoc.com with take down notices he decided to solve the problem at its root. He asked docstoc.com what measures they took against its members who repeatedly posted stolen content.
He has received no answer to this question.
If docstoc.com does indeed would allow its members who violate copyright laws to continue to post stolen content, that would truly be not only disturbing, but terribly irresponsible.
