Docstoc.com – The Saga Of Plagiarism Continues …

Well our associate has ranted that he has found even more stolen content on docstoc.com. He has asked the docstoc.com staff on more than one occasion what will be done with their members who are repeat copyright infringers. Unfortunately, docstoc.com has not answered.

Docstoc’s lack of response to these important questions about plagiarism is somewhat disturbing. I mean what kind of company would knowingly allow someone to use it’s website to display stolen content after they were notified that one of their users has done so repeatedly?

Something that could have been dealt with quickly and easily has now made our associate more curious than ever about docstoc’s practices. He has informed us that one particular repeat copyright infringer has nearly 70,000 documents on docstoc…that’s right 70,000!

He also found it curious that this user is copying the content from ArticlesBase.com and being repurposed on docstoc.com. Interesting. So as ArticlesBase.com works to grow it’s website through article submissions a user from docstoc.com has taken over 100,000 pages of content and posted in on docstoc.com. Both the user and docstoc.com are profiting through revenue sharing via Google Adsense.

Unfortunately, for all of those who are authors the ArticlesBase.com terms of service are being violated as well as your individual copyrights as well. While the offending user does indeed include a link back to ArticlesBase.com he/she does not give the author of the content any credit whatsoever!

If you submit articles to ArticlesBase.com or any other article directory you might want to check to see if your work is being used improperly on docstoc.com.
